Psionic Tournament Round III - James v. Jéjé

Each of these slaves has won a bout and lost a bout.

These are our two fastest slaves, both of them Lurks.
I'm sure each of them will be hungry for a win.

Speaking of hungry, watching all this mental exercise is sure making my stomach growl!

Jéjé curses inwardly as he sees James moving towards him before he could react. Quickly he draws from the animalistic powers inside him and puts up a defense similar to James'. Moving towards James a few steps, he quickly pull back, motioning to his adversary... taunting him...

[Free action to activate boots. Standard action to manifest augmented animal affinity (+4 Wis, +4 Con. Manifest augmented defensive precognition (see Link's post ;-) ) as swift action. Move action to move a bit forward towards James and right back to the starting position.

Note: AC on sheet is one too low - Dex is +6, not +5.]

And it seems that both James and Jéjé are content to prepare for this round.

That's right, two defensive powers manifested by each of them.


They're also jockeying for position a bit, I think we may have some action soon.

"Naughty you are... you dare attack me?" Jéjé quickly ducks out of the way as James strikes at him. Stepping to the side he summons his short sword in a flash and says "I think you should end your own, miserable life, sir."

[Fluff reflects most probable outcome. ;-)

If James' attack is successful, use evade attack augmented (7 PPs) to negate it. If roll of 1d20+10 vs. DC 15 fails, use luck reroll.
If James misses (vs. AC 21 - +6 armor +5 deflection), then... next round.

If immediate action was used to evade attack, step to I20, draw luck blade, use augmented death urge (11 PPs - DC 24 Will save) on James.

If no immediate action was used, step to I20, draw luck blade, use free action to charge blade with 2 PPs, swift action for lurk augments deceptive strike and mental assault, augmented for 8 Wis damage, attack James as standard action.

James charges to J-20 and invokes lurk augment (deceptive strike and mental assault) (12pp). James attacks Jéjé +17 = 31 vs AC 21 (no dex), hits. Jéjé manifests augmented Evade Attack (7pp). Manifester lvl check (max +10) +10 = 15 vs DC 15, success. James's attack misses.

Jéjé steps. Jéjé draws his luck blade and manifests augmented Death Urge (11pp). I need to know if James will be using an immediate action before resolving the rest of this round.

It's pretty impressive. They're really throwing around a lot of mental energy as well.

When this bout is over, we may need to get some illusionists to re-enact it in slow motion just so we can tell exactly what happened!

Jéjé frowns shortly then digs into his left pocket, then his right. Pulling out a small bag, he smiles at James and then disperses the dust on his head - vanishing from sight.

James can see Jéjé grinning when he manifests touchsight. The grin vanishes and turns into a frown as it becomes obvious that he can be seen. Quickly Jéjé steps after James and lashes out with his rapier.

[5' step to K19. Swift action to augment for mental assault (12 PPs augmented, 8 Wis damage) and deceptive strike. If attack roll misses, reroll.

Jéjé has disappeared, but James seems to be able to know where he is still.
