Gentlemen, close your pie holes. The armory is open, you'll find the gear choices available at your respective ranks in the Processing thread. If a bullet point has an OR separating two weapons on the same line, you can only fuckin' pick one of 'em. Don't get cute.

Dakka, get your fuckin' tooth brush out. Leave it behind. The greenhorns in the training wing will treat it real nice for ya while you're gone. I hate to say it, but you're too useful to pull out of this mission. So I'll let the fuckin' greenies scrub cans with your brush for you while you're gone. You can thank me later.

Doc, stop bitching. Dakka's mouth is your mouth son, don't you ever fuckin' forget it. DIS-missed!

[disclaimer: no IRL anger please. just military lingo/humor.]

Also chargen is done, so I'm stepping out of being IC in the OOC thread. That was for immersion/humor purposes. I don't think it needs to be said, but everyone should chill out now. IC thread will be up in moments!

Okay, good, now I don't run the risk of being accidentally rude - just divide between OOC and IC.

Incidentally, I hope no-one took anything I said literally. I was just following Croaker's lead.

Oh christ. Clear the OOC thread. Jet is at it again.

Note: I didn't intend on having three separate devices, but I wasn't clear either. Ryder's squad is only responsible for one of the nukes. The other two are redundancy bombs in case something goes wrong, carried by other Jackal Squads.

Also, good show guys. I like what you're doing.

Also: you can be as antagonistic to each other as you want, but the game does support PvP action and if you piss your subordinates off IC I won't be terribly surprised if they "accidentally" put a bullet in your trooper's head or use him as a human shield. These things happen, after all!

Do separate IC from OoC and try not to be disruptive to each other. Also respect each others concepts, please. Jet is not someone you want to fuck with, and Dakka pulling rank on him will work in an official capacity, but if he really is an unfeeling monster he's liable to slay Dakka and take her place as Corporal. That's not to say that Cheese did anything wrong; I just want him to be aware that there could be IC consequences to his actions. This is just an example (the only one in fact); I'm not calling anyone out here.

Again, the trooper vs. trooper theme is not necessary, just supported. If you want to get into PvP fights over this stuff, that's fine. If you dont' think it would fit your character or the story, that's fine too. I'm just trying to point out the options that the game provides, not trying to push it in any particular direction.

Do you want a retcon on those nukes, Croaker?

And Shakespeare: I love what you did with Dakka. Spectacular!

Edit: Alright! Now I get to push the system until someone decides to take an axe to Dakka's throat!

My character's renown for his dependability, his commitment to his soldiers, and his charisma. Doubt he'll do anything to provoke friendly-fire.

What did I do, E-C?

Oh, all the characterization you gave her. Truly, you have made her into a demon(ess).

Glad to help. I just need to try and make Ryder come across as someone who's charismatic and good at inspiring loyalty, and I'm set. ^_^

Well, I'm sure Dakka will follow his orders loyally and to the letter, and make sure the rest of the squad does as well (by means of force if necessary). I think this game is going to thrive on character inter-relationships.

Croaker, how common are female troopers in the 3:16, given that it's a futuristic setting (I was thinking Starship Troopers, where squad makeup seems almost 50%, and the girls are just as tough as the guys)?

Glad to hear it Corporal.

About the woman-soldier thing: I was just working off of my knowledge of modern day army proceedure. No front-line soldiers and all that. But no doubt it's dependant on the whims of the GM in 3:16.

Actually, just so you know, in Israel, women do serve in all portions of the army (to my knowledge), and are conscripted just as men are, though for half a year less. Tides are changing even now, so it the Starship Troopers scenario (as far as gender-equality in the military goes) is perhaps not that far off.

*nods* Gotcha, but I was referring to the British Army. Working with them means my knowledge is a little... biased.

It's like Starship Troopers. Gender is not really a factor.

Also, again, to be clear: you don't have to be hostile towards each other. It's your prerogative.

Yeah, but just as in Wicked Age, conflict spices things up. Especially until we have bugs to squash. Then Dakka will be too busy to be pissing anybody off.

I don't know if Jet's going to be hostile. Jet probably doesn't know if he's going to be hostile. It's probably safer for everyone if the drop ship lands quickly and you give him a planet to destroy.

No no no. Not just like In a Wicked Age. The premises between those games are entirely different. Inter-party conflict is inevitable in that game. In this game it's an option and absolutely not a focus. The players can steer things however they wish, but this game is all about blasting bugs.

There are other elements, sure, but don't get too carried away in your assumptions about PvP combat.

My explanations seem to be doing more harm than good, so I'll just let you lot to do what you will. Respect each other, respect the story, and we'll all have a good time.

(speaking of a Wicked Age, any chance of a post soon? heheh)

I can't say that I won't PvP in this game, because doing that would break Jet's affect on everyone. I will say that if I do it, it'll be with style and add to the story. For now though, I'd just be happy that the story moves forward.

Would it be all right for me to add goggles to Jet's kit?

As long as there are bugs to fry, Dakka's got no deathwish against anyone. But she is an emotional person, so anger issues may come up. We'll see.
