I just tried to think of something that fits the mostly african cultural flavor. Which is kind of how I see the Danlebians. A blend of Greco/Roman and African. But I may be wrong.

Vortigern, I liked yor post. I think you have a pretty good grasp of what I am going for, culture wise, with Danleb.

I didn't really think about Africa much. I got more of a Middle East/Mediterranean vibe when the armors and stuff were being described(except for the whole kingdom being on a big savannah instead of by large bodies of water). I'm going to have to mentally readjust.

I think it has those elements as well Geek. Just not as prominent as the African. It seems like a melange.

Sorry about the inactivity. My schedule has got much busier as finals approach so I'll not even attempt at any promises to get my character made until spring break. I wanna make sure I do well on my first finals so I'm gonna overcram as I don't know what to expect yet. I may find some time here or there to discuss my ideas for a character with you david, but no promises.

On the up side though, joining a game in progress is usually easier for me because I can easily see what niches still need filled and I can accomidate any weaknesses of the party.

How many female characters are there by the way? I was thinking of a female too...

There's geek's character, and then there's the character that Lando is making but hasn't yet finished and may not for a while due to RL things.

Unfortunately between life/work and my own GMing and other games I'm already involved in at I'm going to have to withdrawl from this one. Feel free to give my slot to another. I got 50% of my pc made on paper, but just haven't had the time to finish her and I don't want to hold up anything.

What's a "stalacmite"?

Misspelling of stalagmite -- the pointy rock formation that comes upward from the ground in a cave. Usually sits directly underneath a stalactite(the one that points downward from the ceiling), with how close they are to each other varying depending on mineral content of dripping water, age, etc. The one in this cave has its point cut off so as to make a table.

Should/may we post about activities we undertake in the interim of our transit to the new site?

If you say so... I figured it was a stalactite that fell from the ceiling and embedded itself in the ground... or something.

GeekEclectic is correct, it was a misspelling. Thats what happens when I don't take the time to run my posts through a spell checker first.

Vortigern: Please do.

Hey guys... between school, work, head cold, work, and females I haven't been able to even begin attempting to learn the gurps system, spend more than a few minutes thinking about a character concept, or even keep up with your guys' postings. I'm afraid I should realize that I just won't be able to join this game afterall. I'm only in one other game, but I've been very spotty there as well (even given that we're coming to the end of the adventure after 2 years!.) I don't want to add another game to my plate and not have enough time for either. Sorry, but this is my graceful bow out. Thank you for considering someone new to the system though! Good luck on your game!

My character's comment was assuming that we ate inside the cave and were about to leave it.

Ah, sorry, I was making the same assumption. That is, that you spent the night in the cavern, and ate there as well.

Are there non-human races that are accepted in this setting? I assumed not, from what we have been given so far. It just seems strange to me for people to be showing such sympathy or nonchalance towards this little monster right in front of us... unless I've misapprehended the setting.
