Just to make sure you know, Kelemyn, Cytaill, being a Wogren, is much bigger than your average dog. Also, Heulwen is more than just slight, she's only 2' 10". Now the dim light may be playing tricks on Aashya's eyes at the moment, but if she's going to take a closer look lets at least make sure she sees the right things.

I already mentioned that Aashya thought that Cytaill was huge. He's not huge - he's medium sized, so her assessment that he doesn't seem as large as she thought at first seems fair. According to the sourcebook, wogren resemble thick-bodied hunting dogs.

I figure that Aashya really can't see much of Heulwen in the dark except her basic shape. I didn't want to call her 'short' so I went with 'slight' instead. She'll note her size when she gets a better look.

Hmmm... wogren size aside ... I thought I made myself fairly clear on Dun's actions:

“ OOC: Dun moves closer, timing his bow shot at Edrick just as Rhotha'ah's light illuminates the guard for a clear shot. ”
I'm not sure how that got misinterpreted as attacking the Hound.

That doesn't mean Dun would've hit Edrick, but would he have had a better chance?

Sorry, that's the problem with handling ten personas at once. Yes the chance would have been better, but it still wouldn't have hit.

Edit: It's fixed now.

I didn't think there were any torches where the other encounter is taking place. Roth dropped his and snuffed it out before he started his charge.

*sigh* Okay then. Another detail that was somehow missed. My consolation is that I wasn't the only one who missed it.

As of this new round, everyone is fighting in near-darkness. There are the small grass fires, but concealment is going to abound. Yay, more die rolls for me.

That's what you get for DMing a PbP. The DM rolls all the dice.

If combat becomes too much of a bear I may end up having you folks make your own rolls. Cheating isn't an issue as it only cheapens the game for the player. And of course if it's done long enough it'll be found out no matter how clever.

So we'll just have to wait and see.

And I almost updated without getting an action from Gral. That wouldn't do. I'm certain the weaponless Erenlander has something up her sleeve...

Yea, though I walk in the shadow of Rhoth, I shall fear no Hound.

Wogren (and by extension, mules) are another story though.

You know, I was leafing through the Midnight Guide to Horribly Nasty Cthulhu-like Monsters (also known as the Midnight Monstrous Manual, MMM) and I realized something. Just about any of those encounters are pretty much guaranteed to annihilate at least one party member.

I liked it.

Bombor is no ordinary mule...

On second thought, I think I'll just let that hang there.

Unless, of course, he gets himself fried by a wizard.

In which case he's just SuperGlue.

Can you have too much alliteration?

Yes.

Strangely enough I've had people tell me it's considered bad form to use alliteration and consonance in prose. Me? I avoid it when I can and use it when it looks good. Yes, I'm a rebel.

Well, they also say that you shouldn't mix water and electricity. Oh wait, they're right about that.

Of course, we must make exceptions for "exceptional" people .

I wanted to do one more post before Cadrius updated, but I doubt that I'll have time. It wasn't going to be anything momentous - just that when reminded of the man-with-the-knife, Aashya is quiet instead of asking all the questions she's got for the halfling. She follows Heulwen up the road, or whichever way Heulwen goes to rejoin the group.
