I believe what it is doing is that it confers a total +3 bonus to your will save for all effects, but vs. fear effects in confers a +6 effect.

Example 1
Caster uses the spell hypnosis, make a will save, you can apply the +3 bonus from the lionheart amulet.

Example 2
Caster uses fear, make a will, apply +6 to your will save from the amulet.

So, at all times, you are guaranteed a bonus of +3 to your will, but you get an additional +3 vs fear (for a total of +6)

And I love the perks for everyone.

Good Monday morning fellers - hope your weekend was pleasant and peaceful. 80 degrees in Wilmington - walked for Relay for Life and was the fill-in coach for my son's soccer game on Saturday and spent Sunday afternoon at the beach! Doesn't get much better than that.

Ready to get back to the game? Got lots of ideas for this week - here are my goals - post boons for Egret and Babelson, get out the next quick post - Dreys is going back to the cabins, right? Anyone going with him?
And then it's off to the island for a multipurpose scenario - find a cure for Bra'kan, face down enemies, discover a hidden....er...nevermind.
Anyway, first the cabins and then to the island!

Edit: Posted boons for everyone! Working on post - whoohoo!

I'm curious as to how Egret's wand works when it comes to the waterbreathing ability. It doesn't say how many charges it takes, and states the duration as ten minutes? Hmm. I'm just a stickler on knowing how things work. Although, it's not my boon. Ah, ignore my rambling. Zachol may want to know though...

Yes Almego is with them coffee. I'll cast detect magic and start identifying everything. I'll try to get an IC post out sometime today, but if you update before them just have me cast what spells are needed to detect stuff and help them search. I'm sure if we get into combat I'll have a chance before it goes too far.

zachol (no capital Z! argh!) indeed wishes to know.


Perhaps the charges taken are... zero???


Also, hey cool. Egret now has the ability to do cool watery stuff.

So... are the four abilities usable only on the wielder, or can Egret buff up others with spiffy fishy abilities?

No charges necessary for the granted power - all you have to do is have your wand in your...uh...hand...er...the CORAL...wand - yeah, that's it.

As for the abilities, you can cast them on yourself or some other willing recipient.

If asked, Squint says, "We should reach the island in about an hour...give or take a few minutes."

Also fellers, Squint is gonna want to rename this ship - Reavers Blood ain't gonna cut it for him. Any suggestions?

Almego will find him a bottle of rum to christen it with (if that's a common tradition in the north) and suggest he name it 'Valkur's Might' in honor of the Master of the Waves. It is not many vessels that have had the grace of his presence upon it's decks I'm betting.

I got my update up, sorry about the delay. Lunemoonshadow is probably ready to kill me for not getting my character posted yet in his game and my players are crying at the slowness of my game as well. Tak's game is slow enough at times that my absenses are hardly noticed. I cry when this game has to feel the impact of my busy life though because I honestly have the most fun in this one.

After clearing this cabin Almego will continue to search the rest of the ship spending all his 0 and 1st level slots on magic detection if need be. If it looks like I won't have enough to scour the whole ship with it, I'll gather things from all the rooms before I do my detections.

I had a question about the detections in this game. I've noticed that we often know what the magic items are without need of anybody identifying them. Is this some sort of self-identifying power that is common of magic items or is this like in my Neverwinter Nights cpu game that we have a chance to know of it by Lore or Spellcraft skill?

Yes. Hence why I struggle sometimes as well (the speed). But that was the original intention when the game began.

When I first read your post z, I thought well I know what she is comfortable with. Its just not very comforting to her I am sure.

Thanks for the kudos - did you see that I've joined Lune's game? Or at least I'm planning to join the WOE faction...if I can figure out what the hell is going on!

As for magic detections, most of them are determined by the spell and I figure you can guess that if a weapon is magical it is probably a +1 weapon (i.e. Lore/Spellcraft); same for some of the items. All of Valkur's boons were revealed to you by Valkur himself.
