K, no girly bows and glitter though.

I think that at this point, Len is just going to slip everyone a high dose of laudanum and take over both ships.

It's still Christmas break (for another week or so...), and I'm still planning on restarting this horse. It might take a generator hooked directly a defibrillator, or possible a testicle, but I've got the next bit half-worked out now.

Just remember: grill spatulas hooked to a car battery do not a defibrillator make. I don't care what Frankenstein says.

Is anyone still interested at this point? I feel like a horse's ass getting started with this and then dropping it. I put a lot of work into it, and I know you guys were counting on me, but I think I blew myself out early.
In any case, I think I'm about ready to rejigger this contraption if you're still interested. If not, fair enough. Next time I run something, I'm for sure going to do some sort of module which requires less prep so as to not burn out so early. |

I'm still around and somewhat interested - kinda lost 'contact' with the character and the game, obviously. Interest depends on what exactly you've planned, Merc. An update a week maybe?
*shrug* I don't think we'll get a lot going without DM input in this game. I might be wrong, but that's my impression. I was disappointed when this game suddenly more or less stopped, but at least the reason was a very nice one. Don't think you need to get this back going if you don't really have the time or just because you think you owe the players, Merc. I'll think about this and see what the others have to say. ![]() |

If you get it going again I'll follow along, but to be honest I'm not that fond of Ash.
I need to stop making such gimmicky characters.

I'm still very interested, though I'm around here less often these days (university is BEEZY). But yes, no pressure Merc, but if you do feel like starting this back up, I'd be quite happy to fool around with Catherine again. She, Naraknah, and a character I play in an F2F Dresden Files game are the characters I've had most fun with.
Tash's idea about once a week updates sounds pretty good. And have a little bit of PC back 'n' forth happening in between maybe, if it works out.

All right. I'll just write this one off, take the loss and move on. Glad you enjoyed it while it was up. Wish I hadn't burned out/flaked so soon after starting.
In any case, I have other game ideas I'd like to try at some point. Top of the list is XCrawl, and I just got my hands on two of the modules from the game. I'm kind of torn between doing it as written (3.5 D&D) or updating it to 4th edition. |

The "players are contestants in a futuristic fantasy-themed arena bloodsport" thing?
Buahahah. I'd say that converting it to 4th edition sounds like a pain, but I also like 3.5 anyway. 4th would be easier to run, right?

Yes, that's the one.
4th would be easier to run, but would require conversion. 3.5 is harder to run, but I would run it completely stock without modifying a single creature or encounter, which is what I did when I ran White Plume Mountain for my f2f group a few years ago. |

If XCrawl is your decision I'm game, for either 3.5 or 4e.

I think we'll go with 3.5, but I'm not going to start until after May 4th (the last day of classes for the semester). Although I suppose I could gather players and get a forum set up and players could roll up characters in the meantime.

So it's some kind of huge dungeon crawl?
|

It is a large dungeon crawl.
The basic concept is that everything in D&D exists in a modern version of earth, and Dungeon Crawling is the most popular sport around the world. Famous dungeon crawlers eventually rise to dungeon designers. The basic idea is that you can roleplay outside of the dungeons if you want, but for me there wouldn't be much of anything gamewise outside the dungeon, and you could RP that all you want, if you want, but I won't be running a "campaign" so much as linked crawls. Think of the WWE, with personalities just like that, but instead of facing each other, they take turns running through dungeons. It's not just a matter of speed or completeness of exploration, or treasure recovered, but a combination of all of those that determine who wins. |

That's crazy enough to have me interested.
And as your posting rate won't be incredibly high, I think I might manage another game. Doing all those maps is quite some work though... Any idea at what character and power level you want this game to take place? |

The crawl I have is designed for six 4th level characters.
