Gladiator Tournament II - Loser's Bracket: Gork vs. Rakesh

Well folks, we've come down to the redemption match.

That's right. The winner of this match will move out of the Loser's Bracket and go up against Spikey for the tournament championship.

Considering that both of these gladiators were sent to the loser's bracket by Spikey, they're vying for the opportunity for revenge.

You just said the same thing with different words. *Pshh* Rakesh and Gork, introduce yourselves to the crowd.

Gork:
Crowd Attitude: 6.4375 (Appreciated, +1 attacks & damage)
Spells: -/2/1
HP: 139

Gus:
HP: 33

Rakesh:
Crowd Attitude: 10.375 (Liked, +2 attacks & damage)
Spells: 3/3/8
HP: 162

Gork & Rakesh have 24 hours to post their round 1 action. This action is supposed to be for showmanship.

"If you grab me that might
mean the end of the fight,
but you'll have to discover
if I'm this or another
And if you guess wrong then good night!"

Rakesh tumbles away to get some space from Gork and casts mirror image.

OOC:
Accelerated tumble away from Gork. I would like to have some charge blocking obstacles between Rakesh and Gork, wherever Gork moves. If Gork stays about where he is then move to L28, jumping onto and then off of the latform in L31-M32.
Do not take any attacks of opportunity until Round 2 begins.

Worried more about survival than about impressing the crowd now that he is in the loser's bracket, Gork makes only a cursory attempt to show off his skill in working with Gus after invoking the magic in his boots and flying up onto a nearby platform.

ooc:
Cast fly from boots as a standard action.
Move to N-39 as a move action.
Order Gus to "come" as a free action, also attempting to impress with Handle Animal skill check.

Mancatcher in hand. Merciful enchantment in manacles hung at belt is active.

Initiative:
Dire Bear: 21
Gork: 21
Gus: 19
Flesh Golem: 9
Rakesh: 8
Grave Dirt Golem: 8
Gray Render: 1

Dire Bear is restrained.

Gork casts fly from his boots.
Gork moves.
Gork orders Gus to come, attempting to impress the crowd. 23 vs. DCís 10 & 40. Success and fails. Gus obeys orders but the crowd is not impressed.

Gus moves.

Flesh Golem takes no action.

Rakesh moves, tumbling as he goes.
Rakesh casts mirror image.

Grave Dirt Golem takes no action.

Gray Render is restrained.

Dire Bear steps.

Gork:
Crowd Attitude: 6.4375 (Appreciated, +1 attacks & damage)
Fly - 60ft fly speed (good), use 1, 49 rounds remaining
Spells: -/2/1
HP: 139

Gus:
HP: 33

Rakesh:
Crowd Attitude: 10.375 (Liked, +2 attacks & damage)
Mirror image - 5 images, duration of match
Spells: 3/3/7
HP: 162

Gork: 21
Gus: 19
Flesh Golem: 9
Rakesh: 8
Grave Dirt Golem: 8
Gray Render: 1
Round 3:
Dire Bear: 21

Well, that was a less than spectacular start. Both gladiators simply ran away from where they started.

Well, given that they were assigned to start next to each other, putting some distance between them was kind of to be expected for Rakesh, but I'm suprised that Gork did the same. His fighting style generally favors a more up close and personal fight.

Gork has 24 hours to post his round 2 action.

Hoping to catch the half-dragon before he can encase himself in grease, Gork barrels across the arena and closes his eyes briefly as he reaches out with his mancatcher.

ooc:
Move to L-30 (remain at 5' altitude).
Attack Rakesh with eyes closed with mancatcher, grappling on a hit. AoO's will be with mancatcher, grappling on a hit.
As a free action, order Gus to "subdue" Rakesh.

concealment 40
to hit 16 bab + 9 str + 1 higher ground +1 feat +1 enhancement 31
damage 16 nonlethal
grapple check 63

handle animal check is automatic

Note: While Gus isnít out of movement, he canít reach a legal space that is closer to Rakesh because of Gorkís location.

Rakesh growls as the blind blow from Gork's mancatcher whizzes past. Rakehs lashes out with a series of attacks, hoping to end the fight quickly.

OOC:
Activate boots and rage as free actions.
Full attack to damage Gork with power attack for -5, (to hit: +13 BAB +14 Str +2 weapon +2 morale +1 haste -5 PA = +27, full attack: +27 / +27 / +22 / +17, damage: 2d4 +21 Str +2 weapon +2 morale +10 PA +1d6 merciful = 2d4 +35 +1d6)
Attack 1: to hit=>30 , damage=>40 +6
Attack 2: to hit=>28 , damage=>39 +4
Attack 3: to hit=>35 , damage=>39 +3
Attack 4: 28 , damage=>42 +1
If Gork is still conscious, 5 foot step toward him and make a non-lethal bite attack (to hit: +13 BAB +14 Str +2 morale +1 haste -5 secondary -4 non-lethal -5 PA = +16, damage: 1d6 +7 Str +2 morale +5 PA = 1d6+14)
If Gork is knocked unconscious by the spiked chain attacks, take a 5 foot step away from Gus to L27.

Designate Gork as dodge target if he is conscious or Gus otherwise.

Rakesh activates his boots of speed and rages.
Rakesh attacks Gork, power attacking for additional damage and stepping to close for the last bit attack which is also for non-lethal damage. 30, natural 1, 34, 27, & 32 vs. AC 20. Four hit, one automatically misses. Deals 46, 41, 42, & 18 non-lethal damage. DR reduces to 45, 40, 41, & 17 non-lethal damage. Crowd attitude towards Rakesh worsens 2 points. Rakesh is no longer Liked (accounted for in above numbers). Gork is unconscious.

Match is over. Rakesh wins.

Crowd attitude towards Rakesh worsens 3 steps (failure to use signature).
Crowd attitude towards Gork worsens 3 steps (failure to use signature). Gork is no longer Appreciated.

Gork:
Crowd Attitude: 3.4375
Spells: -/2/1
Non-lethal damage: 143
HP: 139

Gus:
HP: 33

Rakesh:
Crowd Attitude: 5.375 (Appreciated, +1 attacks & damage)
Spells: 3/3/7
HP: 162 (after rage expires)

Whoa! That was quick.

Rakesh is really interested in revenge. To the point that he didn't even bother trying to force Gork to stop flying so that he could use his signature.

The crowd certainly doesn't like that.

Maybe not, but Rakesh has earned the right to face Spikey again.

Voting will close on Monday, 10 December, 2007. Rakesh should email me his recovery plans by that date as well.
