Whoops I was going to have the LOk smash through the wall but then I remembered that it would instinctively know about the hole it dug in the ground

5+5+7+1-2=16
100 = 9 Successes
5+5+7+1-3=15

Tobar Flurry, two attacks:
Successes+Weapon Damage+Strength-Lethal Soak(assumed 4)
#1 7+4+2-4 = 9 Dice
49
#2 2+4+2-4 = 4 Dice
30

4 Total Damage = DEAD BEAST-MAN!

PS: The dice were not with me tonight!

Single attack at a beast man:

One attack against a random beastman: 68
6 successes. So that is 11 (Str+Weapon)+6 successes (17)- DV- Soak, yes?

EDIT: there has got to be an easier way to determine # of damage dice so there isn't so much lag between rolls.

Parry DV: 5
Personal Essence: 8 (4 spent)
Peripheral Essence: 29

ST has stated previously that

The Wolfmen are NOT extras it appears. I had assumed a Soak of 4 previously and he was good with that.

DV 2
Lethal Soak 4

I am using the standard beast man from the core book if you need to know anything about their abilities...but If you all wanted to we could switch this to a mass combat to quicken the scene a little bit. with it being Leopards turn and him having the best skills at being a war leader it would work

Part of the problem is that I am posting from a location that the core rule book isn't, and I don't really feel like buying a .pdf of a book I already own in dead tree format.

Mass combat might make the most sense in this regard.

I'd like mass-combat, only because it'll mean my character will get there quicker. Granted, he'll be just as useless in either scenario, but at least in mass-combat, he'll be useless because he lacks ability, and not because he isn't present.

Since I'm useless either way though, it's up to the rest of you really.

So if we are making this into a mass combat, what do you need from me?

Zhung Inspiring Speech that throws in elements of the UCS and Freedom (from those that oppress like the dynastic DB's of the Realm, without spelling it out completely of course....no insurrection, YET).

Cha 3 + Performace 3 + WP for Valor = 10 dice.
53

4 Successes (below average, but a serious success)

Int+Lore = 4 (not all that great of a die pool, but I have to try!)
28

3 successes (WOOOOT!)

Look for both spiritual and mundane clues about the book (Spirit-Gaze is on, but I doubt it'll help any. Sorcerer's Sight would be cool about now.)

Int+Investigate=8
37

2 successes... That is... rather depressing. Oh well, maybe it'll be enough (here's hoping it can help Calsin tell Tobar what reagent to try)

Attempting to identify the writing in the book (unless it's just Old Realm, then I get it free )

Int+Lore=10
54

6 successes. Yay, above average (and beats almost any difficulty!); Course, I doubt it will be this simple, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Attempting to memorize the cypher on the current page

Wits+Lore (good fit?)=9
37

3 successes. That was a pretty low roll, and with a low threshold, I'll probably just get the one page, or even just a part, if any...

EC, you forget that 1 success is actually good in Exalted, 2 is above average, and 3 puts you in the realm of really cool! Even Dif 2, you still made the cut!

OK, using Easily Overlooked Method + Stealth Roll (3motes)
47
for Tobar goes unnoticed through the city to the Sergent's Quarters.

He will use Lock-Opening Touch to get inside very fast without having to hunch over and pick the lock/bar. (3motes)

Per+Larc to notice locations where a book could be hidden away from normal inspections.

OK, using Easily Overlooked Method + Stealth Roll (3motes)

for Tobar goes unnoticed through the city to his room.

Man+Larc to 'doctor' the book and make it look old and/or not written anytime recently.

for Tobar goes unnoticed through the city to the meeting point.

Spend 5 xp points to raise Investigate from 3 to 4 (rating=3 x 2=6 - 1=5)

Target: Crack the cipher (the parchment and ink is there so he can jot down what he remembers and jot down combinations and such for working out the cipher)

Pool: Int+Investigate=9

Roll: 55

7 successes. W0000t! Calsin is awesome with puzzles!

OK. Tobar is obviously lying his ass off to save Jalid's butt! He is also making sure that ALL of the soldiers in the room know that the Satrap (father) didn't save the city, but that the mercenaries and Tobar did. While they may be paid by the Satrap, they owe their lives and the lives of their families to the Merc's (ie Solars ;-)

So, Tobar is using Manipulation+Presence on the woman, but is only relaying information to the others, so not rolling that up. Spending a WP to get his Conviction in extra dice (channel).

Mastery of Small Manners in essence gives Tobar a higher Appearance in social combat for an action, his Appearance would now effectively be a 6. In social combat the difference between Attackers App and Defenders App is subtracted from the Defenders MDV (maximum of +/-3)

He is using the environment,a prop (the book), and his obvious good looks as part of a stunt (+2).

Man+Pres+Conv+Stunt = 13
87
10 Successes!!!!!! (Or 9 without the last 2 stunt dice)
