possible character concept I thought of that would legitimize having artifacts you can't/don't use with the stats you want could be an archaeologist/lore master who has been sent/come to jades to investigate said artifacts which have been recently dug out of the mines that jades is founded on.

Another might be a wandering monk-sage type.

Well my character is a wandering monk (who will end up becoming a sorcerer), and my story having the artifacts could be either - family heirlooms (he's a dynast after all, though being so far unexalted, and the artifacts being orihalcum, it doesn't make much sense) or treasures he found at various sites during his wanderings.
I probably will exchange a point of Str for a point of Dex anyways, but I'm likely to drop the artifacts... if I can find a suitable replacement background.

I'm switching gears a fair bit on my character... there's just no way to have a Solar do what I was going to have the Lunar do.

Gear that I'm looking at switching to: a demon hunter. :-)

I'll use my previously posted character sheet as a workspace and make its own thread when I'm finished.

Is this a custom rule for your game? Normally a mortal MUST go through a very long and grueling process to become 'enlightened' before they get the ability to utilize motes. Even then its very limited.

More to come.

I highly suggest that you 'FIND' the artifacts after your exaltation, must like you will be learning your initial charms, AFTER, your exaltation.

I was using that as a best case scenario since the character knows one sorcery spell.

Remember this first part of this campaign is going to be loosely based on finding ancient artifacts from the 1st age (before the fall and imprisonment of the solars)

Okay, the staff has to go, it's too complicated, but I think I'll keep the bracers (finding them when we go exploring).

I've got two ideas for a replacement for the staff:
1. Mentor 3: Jalid Safar, the elder of the village (Cult of Illumination leader, and Sidereal Exalted). As Calsin goes through his travels, he keeps meeting with Jalid, in either visions, dreams, or in actual reality. If in reality, Jalid will probably be in disguise. As such, Calsin won't know he has a mentor.
2. Manse 3: Windhands Gem.

Since both of these are rating 3, I'll have to drop either my influence or backing (or resources - he is a wandering monk with high Temperance. It could get problematic though)

Thanos looks good for your character....just one question: Why does your solar have sidereal charms?

Darius looks good too

*throws two cents into the ring*
Technically Violet Bier of Sorrows is a Celestial Martial Arts, and as such, any Celestial Exalted can learn it, though it is a very big no-no to teach it to non-Sidereals according to the elders.
*Backs out of the ring*

I should have my guy finished by the end of the day; and yeah he'll be an Eclipse to round out the circle. He'll have some social skills, though not as much as other Eclipse's I've seen. Also, he's going to be the ranged member of the party evidently...

Quick question though, would it be possible for me to start out with a bonded Simhata?

Hey, Leopard has a ranged attack... as much of a ranged attack as Iron Raptor Technique is, anyway.

Read the short into/backstory for Tobar and you will know WHY he developed the charms, IE BIG PLOT HOOK. Other than being the play-toy of the Gold Faction Leader......I was hoping you might think that the Gold Faction leader actually used a disguise and put the stuff in his head as a set up for one of the Bronze Faction or some god she was really ticked off at to take a fall.....

Plot HOOK! PLOT HOOK to go along with the goal of the Twilight, so there is a reason for the two of them to hook up.

Also, to be honest, I have completely forgotten the version of the Night Caste that I made that was non-social based. I think it was a heavy Perception+Awareness type, but that is all I remember. I can certainly remake that if the Eclipse and the Zenith are going to move in the social direction. Although, I kinda like the way he is right now. Dirty underhanded politician type that is not above just assassinating his rivals, personally!

PPS: Waiting with bated breath for the other people to post their characters!

Gavis, I've edited my character. Do you want to take a look and confirm that it's okay now?

THANOS WANTS NEW CHARACTER SHEETS POSTED!

j/k
Can you tell I am chomping at the bit to get this game off the ground and running!
Also, have you noted that I have made more posts on these boards than all of the other players and ST combined? HEHEHEHEHE

That is pretty damn cool, especially considering you're not the only epic... It may be helped by the fact that three of us are still in the newb phase on these boards...

And you aren't the only one chomping at the bit; I'm thrashing all over the place in three different games, waiting for one of them to start! I actually wouldn't be surprised if my path finder game starts before this one...

ok, so here is the low down: I have a pretty crummy work schedule this weekend The good news is: I have made an executive decision to begin the campaign on Monday with any characters that are ready to go! (fear not if you are not ready by then I can weave you into the story as soon as you are ready)

Also, a thousand apologies to those of you who are ready and have been for a few days.

If BRR reads this, you may just get a pie to the face via the internet. Stranger things have happened.

Is there anywhere in the source books where I can read about Jade, specifically its merchant class and dealings? Is it a big Guild type place or more freehold? Local customs, gods, ect?

Info about Jades can be found here: http://wiki.white-wolf.com/exalted/i...hp?title=Jades

Not sure where the info can be found in the sourcebooks

Jades will be a VERY interesting place to base the beginning story.

A town under siege by the minions of a super-powerful and mentally unstable first age Lunar, nominally controlled by the Realm via its 185 soldier garrison and 3-5 DB's, mayored by another DB's who is one of the last free Iselsi left!

I am SOOOOOO glad I insisted on everybody having at least a dot in Stealth! DAMN!

There is a small problem with us arriving in Jades though...
Tobar's fine, the gate could just drop in to the city...
Calsin though, is a wandering monk; how's he going to get into the city, past the beastmen?

What was that about me insisting on Stealth?
You could also have come in on one of the 'successful' river barges that made it past the beast-men. That could also explain why you haven't tried to flee....

Okay, I guess that works... Now I just have to figure out why Calsin is so dead-set on getting into Jades...

Edit:I fixed three broken links on Jades' page. I'm so proud of myself.

Edit2: Okay, I know why Calsin is hell-bent on going to Jades - He was granted a vision by Jupiter herself, and she tells him that his destiny lies in Jades. I put up a description of this vision as Calsin's description on my sheet.
