I was thinking more along the lines of 'filet of spider,' actually.

That last post was just a giveaway for all manner of bad jokes. You read it, PY, and probably everyone else did too. I'm entitled to my unfunniness.

I do, actually! I have the perfect teleportation spell!

Have you ever had all your matter instantaneously squeezed through a hole the size of a photon uphill both ways simultaneously? Well... I don't recommend any of you other PCs try it.

And yes, I'd imagine you could, if you could speak with animals and get them to scout ahead far enough in 15 rounds (assuming maximum caster level, which you obviously don't have) to make it worthwhile.

I should have prepared prying eyes today....

Why yes I can, I can consume the immortal soul of someone capable of accomplishing said feat. You don't have to be a demon to do that, after all. In fact, I do it better than most.

What skills would I need to learn Kiara's location, Darken?

Regarding Summon Nature's Ally: of course, summoned creature follows whatever command you give them, save suicidal commands, as long as you can communicate with them.

As for discerning Kiara's location, she is no different than any other creature to discern. There's no "PC-shield" that protects her any better than other beings can protect themselves with.

Translation: first, you have to know of her existence. Then, you have to successfully cast a divination at her without dying

Bah, I'll be immune to everything soon enough, I'll take that chance. Though the knowing of her existence you speak of may be a bit inconvenient.

Waaaait...
The psionic power attempts to cause you the least amount of harm rather than taking the risk to put you closer to the true destination.
I cast greater teleport, not manifested psionic teleport. If my spell's failure was based on the assumption it was the lesser power, then we should have made it, unless the Underdark has a property that makes teleportation without error fallible (which I had assumed, but have no way to confirm).

If this is so, then I think I'll try my spell again, since it would not have been cast. Or, alternatively, you delete the last few posts and pretend it never happened. Unless you meant to say "normally flawless arcane magic" and it was just an honest mistake. Then I'll continue with my bad jokes on the subject.

Teleportation in the underdark is indeed always fallible

I think it's a spellcraft check with a fairly high DC that's necessary to arrive where you want to arrive.

Oh right, I meant to edit that out, for some reason I keep on thinking you were a psionic guy. But the end result of Teleportation with a point in Underdark as destination is the same regardless of which power/spell you use. I will edit the post and chance "power" to "spell."

Ah, crap! So I've been wasting time with greater teleport all along!? Ah, well, live and learn.

Well, there is a slight difference. You can't teleport to a place you haven't seen before. Greater teleport works even if you only have a description. So it probably wasn't a waste

The multiverse takes note of this and Arel dissolves along with the world, destroyed forever by a paradox

Oh, well. I'm sure a second, paradox-resistant Lord Ao will remake the world in time for the next chapter.

Regarding the Underdark thing, I mentioned in IC multiple times to show Arel's extensive knowledge know that there's no guarantee Teleporting into the Underdark, as well as pointing out explicitly in the books you research. Then again, Arel is crazy, so she'll only learn things the hard way, I suppose... even when learning things she already knows about.

As for Teleporting to Candlekeep, I rolled Melfice's perform check, and with that result I simply invoked the "He tells it like you've been there when it happens" clause and ruled that you effectively have seen the place before.

Fair enough.

Actually, I thought that greater teleport would at least give me a better chance. It's the universal failure thing that's got me down. It's disappointing my one single semi-precaution did absolutely nothing for me.

But since a psychologist would define Arel as an anorexic megalomaniacal arachnophilic paranoid schizophrenic with multiple personalities, prone to severe night terrors, none of that really matters. Indeed, Arel is extremely mentally unstable.

Pithy - It's not just an insult

Pithy: brief and to point: brief, yet forceful and to the point, often with an element of wit.

hahaha! umm Im just going to say Arturo is not aware that isn't an insult. It sure sounded like an insult in my head when I thought of it.

Anyone know what word I was thinking of? I think it would have meant insignificant or something.
