Yes I thought it was time to re-introduce an Epic game back to the boards after the unpleasantness that I won't mention. Anyway I will need about 4-6 players.....I will be giving first preference to the players from A World Aflame.

Looks like I have got some good feedback for this campaign, just a note I don't know much about faerun so I am using a homebrew world, all source books can be used excepts Relics and Rituals.......But hey you most likely won't be on the material plane often anyway so it isn't that important.
And yes Union will be used :)

grrrrrrrrrr . . . ok.
which system are we using for the planes? the MotP (planescape) sys is better than the fr's one. if u use the frs gods, i can tell you what their homeplanes are.
SponkleofInfini

I will use MotP system.
As for character creation I will post it in a couple of days, I just have to work some stuff out.

25th level start
48 Point Buy
Standard starting gold for that level
-Can purchase Epic Items, but no one item can cost more then 25% of your starting gold.
Max HP for 1st level 75% for each additional level.
All official source books may be used.
Monster races may be used as long as their ECL is not greater then 25, some races will be under my descretion eg. Chichimec, Mu Spore, Anaxium and Brachyurus.
Templates may be used as long as their ECL does not surpass 24. Paragon and Psuedonatural templates have an ECL of 16.
I think that is it, just post any queries if I have left anything out.
Note: Also I do not have the MM2 so if you wish to use a race from that source send me the creatures stat block via email or instant messenger and give me it's ECL if noted otherwise I will try to come up with one.

Just another note I got MotP yesterday so I may be able to use Sigil aswell as Union. Does anyone know where I can find some more detailed information on Sigil, the information provided in MotP was rather vague on details.
Also if anyone has some detailed info on the City of Brass or where I could find it, I would much appreciative.

Cool. I'm leaning towards an accomplished meta-magician sorcerer, but give me some time to think about it. A cleric of a martial diety would be very interesting too.

heres basic info on sigil. if you look around a good bit, you should be able to dig up info on every plane.

any questions, email me or im me. i should know.

Thanks for the links, the info on Sigil was greatly appreciated. This should help me out alot if you all visit Sigil at some point.

Sounds kewl! I've actually already put together the first 20-level basics on a celestial/halfling Paladin (deity undecided as of yet) gone Halfling Outrider.
But I don't have the ELH, however there's a bookstore nearby where I've read some of it recently. However, I can't find my own DotF, nor does the store have it... and money is a little tight for me... I'm trying to come up with a kewl mount! :) Any suggestions?
Talaananthes

a silver drag? classical paladin mount. also, sponk, will u allow faction members? some dms wont.

Silver dragon... hmmm... now that might be able to take advantage of my 41 Ride Skill!
Hahah and at +8HD (maybe +6, still playing around with levels), wait... can a halfling ride a silver drag and actually use a light lance effectively?!?!?!? LOL Maybe I'll have to pick up MonkeyGrip or some other feats to make this work... hmmm.... :devious:

The deities I use are base DnD deities........Kord etc etc. Also Bahamut and Tiamat will be used but they will be going by different names. If any of you are interested in being a cleric of one of these deities I will get back to you with some info.
SponkleofInfini

I will get back to you on the faction thing. I still have some more reading to catch up on.

Dust

Can I use the FR gods and background? I could be a planeswalker from Faerun. I only ask because I greatly prefer those options, and I like the fact that the Faerunian gods are more varied and are easier to match up with an individual character.
Talaananthes
3rd of October, 2002, 06:13
~agrees thoroughly~
if were using the planescape system even a little, then travel between the crystal spheres is not particularly hard. specially if you know where to find one of ygdrassils roots, or an astral conduit, or have the right gate key too and from sigil.
Azrharn
3rd of October, 2002, 07:56
I think i'm leaning to a classic Elven Ranger..
SponkleofInfini
3rd of October, 2002, 08:33
I will allow the faerunian gods and background, just send me or tell me the gods name and domains associated with it. Also you will need to come up with a likely story also for how you got here, like just off the top of my head getting lost while travelling through the Plane of Shadow or something along those lines.
SponkleofInfini
3rd of October, 2002, 08:37
If you're going to be a cleric or something along those lines wouldn't be harder to use your powers and spells which are directly garnered from your god. Like you are moving into a different cosmology.
I would assume there would be some difficulty casting etc.
SponkleofInfini
3rd of October, 2002, 08:38
I would have used the Faerun campaign setting if I knew anything about it but I don't so homebrew it is
Dust
3rd of October, 2002, 12:42
I don't think divine casting would be effected. I'm probably not going to play a cleric, though. I just prefer the Faerunian pantheon. The basic D&D pantheon is limited and not particularly interesting. The Faerunian pantheon is expansive and has tons of inter relationships and portfolios.
SponkleofInfini

Ok I don't mind, as it is for role playing affect. But if you want to be a cleric you would have to get back to me
Skreem
4th of October, 2002, 02:46
.... am I the only one NOT playing a Paragon?
... me thinks me be out-gunned
Talaananthes
4th of October, 2002, 04:18
a paragon is the only way to play a warrior who can survive in epic battles. ie, hes got the spell resistance, fast healing and saves to survive against that mage over there whos throwing five fingers of death, an abidalzims horrid wilting and a maximized meteor swarm in one round. ;)
i will play a elven fighter/ranger from the elven court in arborea. cg. dual longswords, and every possible feat to improve them.
i used a few custom feats sponk, ill contact you re them asap.

Custom Feats???? I thought I mentioned sumething along the lines of official sources :)

I've pretty much decided on an artillary sorcerer. I'll get the character up in a few days, now that it's the week end (my weekends begin on Thursday night and end on Tuesday morning due to my scheduling).

Fair enough, now that everyone is into the spirit of things I will organise a forum.
Talaananthes
5th of October, 2002, 02:19
ok . . . i am finalized almost. paragon elven fighter/ranger from evereska in faerun, has lived for much of his life in the elven court of arvandor on the top level of arborea. neutral chaotic good. dual longswords.
SponkleofInfini
5th of October, 2002, 08:43
Ok you all can use Faerun locations etc, I just hope you don't expect me to know much about it. You all will most likely never be dealing with faerun gods again except in your backgrounds of course.
I just wanted to make that clear
Talaananthes
5th of October, 2002, 09:46
and then there are those of us fine individuals who worship gods that are everywhere! whoopie!

I am sorry to drop this in your laps now guys. Especially after you all have started work on your characters. I don't think I will be able to DM this campaign, I feel it would be best if someone with a good understanding of Faerun was to DM in my stead. Homebrew worlds are much harder to DM online as they lack the structure of those of established settings. I don't think I could do such a game justice. So I will withdraw from being a DM, I would be happy to be a PC though if anyone should make an Epic campaign.
Yet again I am sorry

D'oh...
Well, I can't DM myself. I have the time to play, but not to DM. Do we have any other takers?
