Hi, everybody!
A quick question.
Hubby (the one who gave me the role-playing bug), is keen on cyberpunk, does anybody now of a good d20 cyberpunk RPG?
Or one with a easy rule system anyway... my pen-and-paper players aren't game for anything like 'Rolemaster'.
Thank you all.

Have you read William Gibson or seen Blade Runner?
Think a world where mega-corporations rule, where cybernetics enhancements are fairy normal, hackers surf cyberspace seeing through their avatar's eyes, drugs are often ciber-stimulations, a city could cover a sizable part of a continent, coltures are fairly mixed and 'original' ones survive (or sometimes thrive, in so called 'arcologies').
All in all a farly dark view of the future, but with interesting possibilities.

Agreed, in fact if we get to play I'll be a chino-japanese hacker, while hubby wants to be a 'solo' (or 'ronin' depending on the publisher).

I play the original FASA 3rd rule version of Shadowrun, which basically is D&D in the future... I play a Dwarven Decker (Shadowrun slang for the ha><><ors (sorry, my school blocks certain words, need to get around them))... cool game... and the first time I've ever played a Dwarven character in any game. ^_^

Actually, Shadowrun is Earthdawn in the future. If you read the timelines, they sort of mesh together. Both games are pretty good.
The idea behind Earthdawn is magic. The more there is, the worse it gets for people since powerful beings, aka. horrors get the power to stalk the earth causing all sorts of destruction. Magic also allowed the formation of the races, orcs, trolls, obsidiman, dwarves, elves, and windlings.
In the future, during the age of shadowrun, magic returns to a limited extent. The mythic races re-emerge, and the dragons wake up after centuries of sleep. But since humankind worked on technology, you get the perfect blend of high-tech meets fantasy.
It also makes sense since both games were created by FASA. They have since become extinct but the rights to the games have been sold off. Livingroom Games owns Earthdawn and Wizkids as stated above owns Shadowrun.
One good thing about Shadowrun is that there aren't really any "classes." There are to a limited degree, but skills are just that, skills. It's the extra stuff that can direct your character down a particular path, magic use, or cyber/bioware.
