Background
The pain defines Teliq.From the moment the horns budded on his forehead,the others saw him as doomed.But he had always been hardy,and he had no intention of dying just yet.When he set off onto the plains it wasn't with the pain-drunk stagger of the others,he had direction,and purpose.At first,only to keep a straight line,but his encounter with the ambushed caravan gave him others.The grateful guards taught him the mercenaries code and he took it and made it his own.
His discovery that fanatic adherence to the code first lessened,then banished the pain,showed him that he had chosen the right path.Taking the name the humans bestowed on him as his own,he threw himself into their ways.His herdmates would certainly think him mad,but to his mind he is merely the first sane centaur.And with the horns comes the promise of power...
His first contract was a mercenary success but a personal failure,with equipment, cash and reputation coming out of it ; but the Kobolds giving him blank looks when asked about a cure.
For now he takes ship for the human land with their clever sages and nimble surgeons.Perhaps a cure?And if not then perhaps the power to make the world pay.
