ICE KNIFE
Conjuration (Creation) [Cold]
Level: Assassin 2, wu jen 2 (water), warmage 2
Components: S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
Effect: One icy missile
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: See text
Spell Resistance: Yes
A magical shard of ice blasts from your hand and speeds to its target. You must succeed on a normal ranged attack to hit (with a +2 bonus on the attack roll for every two caster levels). If it hits, an ice knife deals 2d8 points of cold damage plus 2 points of Dexterity damage (no Dexterity damage on a successful Fortitude save). Creatures that have immunity to cold damage also take no Dexterity damage automatically.
A knife that misses creates a shower of ice crystals in a 10-foot-radius burst (see Missing with a Thrown Weapon, page 158 of the Player’s Handbook, to determine where the shard hits).
The icy burst deals 1d8 points of cold damage to all creatures within the area of the effect (Reflex half).
Material Component: A drop of water or piece of ice.

SCALES OF THE LIZARD
Transmutation
Level: Wu jen 1
Components: V, S, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 minute
When you cast this spell, your skin toughens and shimmers as if covered with scales. You gain a +2 enhancement bonus to your natural armor bonus, increasing to +3 at 6th level, +4 at 9th level, and +5 at 12th level or higher.
The enhancement bonus provided by scales of the lizard stacks with your own natural armor bonus (if any), but not with other enhancement bonuses to natural armor. A creature without natural armor has an effective natural armor bonus of +0, much as a character wearing only normal clothing has an armor bonus of +0.
Focus: A tattoo of a lizard on your skin.

Description:
Nabi has an average build, is slightly tanned and wears a brown weathered robe which is held together by a multitude of different coloured patches (mostly hues of brown or gray). Strapped across his waist is a make-do belt made out of rope which holds both his weapons and various pouches.

Nabi is what one could call an urban hermit; he lives (or actually used to live; more about that below) his daily live amidst the other citizens of Edinway, but has little contact with others. His views regarding magic and spirits are considered unorthodox, which together with his habit of talking to and about the departed has caused him to be shunned by regular people, but also fellow arcanists.
Wearing thick glasses to compensate for his nearsightedness and being completely bald (leaving a small tattoo resembling a gecko above his left ear perfectly visible for all to see), his reputation as local nutcase is further improved.

Background:
Son of Boltos Pranašas and Caixa Pokladník.

Nabi's youth was a normal and carefree one; most of his time was spent playing with his friends. Nearing the age of fourteen, he was slowly introduced to the life of adulthood: time playing became ever more sparse and was steadily replaced by time doing chores. Nabi reacted to his changing life like every kid at that age: he rebelled against his parents. Whenever chores needed to be done and he had the opportunity to avoid them, he avoided them by sneaking off. Usually, he would meet up with his friends and hang out in alleys, playing simple games. Unfortunately, his friends were caught in the same predicament, and often were not able to join Nabi, leaving him to get off on his own.

During one of his lonesome trips, he ended up sitting at the bank of a narrow stream, just outside the city. Bored, he stared at a couple of birds fighting over the best spot for a fresh bath, his mind a torrent of unrelated thoughts. It took him a while before he became aware of the foreign presence probing his psyche. Startled, he jumped up and looked all around him, searching for whoever it was that was spying on him, but saw noone. Feeling rather uncomfortable and wanting to get away from the place as fast as possible, he ran along the small river, back to where it crossed the road, all the while looking back over his shoulders. Then suddenly, something caught his eye in the water and he skidded to a stop. Dumbfounded, mouth agape, he looked at a watery face that seemed to float just below the surface. Nabi wasn't sure how, but he knew, that the feeling of curiosity and puzzlement were not his own, but of the thing that was studying him. Unable to convince his body to continue running, he stood there for what must have been mere minutes. But in those minutes, an odd understanding formed in the back of his head.

Nabi still cannot remember what exactly happened next, only that when he eventually returned home, the first thing he did was write down a series of symbols and signs, knowing that it was a magical spell that allowed him to create floating lights out of thin air.

It would not be until after several weeks before Nabi felt another brief sensation of an unknown presence; this time during one of his chores, though this time he did not actually see anyone or anything. At night, Nabi snuck from home, back to the passageway where he had felt something, hoping to find out what it was that he had sensed. Only after three more cold nights, did the presence make contact again.

These spirit-encounters, as Nabi started calling them, would start occuring frequently. Sometimes, they ended with Nabi learning some minor tidbit of information or even another magical spell, but most often the spirits were weak and only managed to convey a myriad of emotions.

As Nabi grew older, it was impossible for him to keep his adventures a secret from his parents, and he confided everything to them. Not surprisingly, they both were wary, but could not deny Nabi's sudden arcane talent.

More to follow, bedtime now though
