...but am I the only one sick of seeing those two buildings ****ing burn? Pearl Harber never got this much attention, and we went to full scale war for it! If we are going to whine about it, at least give those of us that have GOTTEN OVER IT something to watch. Firemen and cops, sure -- they were heros. But, what about all the people that worked in the building, the people that didn's swear an oath that meant that they could die on the job?

The point is, I've not only gotten over it, I've gotten sick of it. If you want a tribute to a tragedy, do this: THE BEST OF AMERICAN BOMBINGS! We've seen enough of our ass, time to let America remember what made this country such a threat in the first place!

I had the same feeling when an El-Al plane flew into a building in the Bijlmer (area in Amsterdam) a few years ago. I got sick of the whole thing around it at a certain time. It's nothing to be ashamed about, nor anything others should see as an insult.

My advice is simple: Just go out with your friends or do something else, like play a game.

No I feel pretty much the same
Although I'm guessing it's worse in the U.S, no doubt every channel has a program about it

I feel it's wrong to keep banging on about the event, it happened, people grieved, don't stick it in their face

its not so much the fact that the event gets press that upsets me as much as the way its done. every station showing the same thing, claiming that they are doing it out of respect and not to play upon the emotions of the nation for ratings, and boasting of a better program due to "better attack footage" and crap like that. itll get milked for all its worth, and in the end, no one will want to hear about anything that has to do with it, and thats not what should happen.

So, Irishjoe
I havent seen you around these waters before, and i'm kind of curious :)

Are you actually Irish (now living on Ohio), or do you just want to be someday? :)

Also is your real name Joe?

If not, why choose that username?

and thats the end of my interrogation :)

irishjoe

Setzer, remember back during Pearl Harbor, CNN and direct television feeds weren't around, or if they were, they paled in comparison. I'm sure that if the attack on Pearl Harbor was given the same attention that the trade center attack was given, we would have seen even more brutality against japanese americans. There would have been an even bigger backlash towards Japan. The soldiers and civilians who died would have been honored just the same.

Another thing to consider, Hawaii isn't on the mainland. The islands are isolated and are several hours away from the closest airport. Compare Oklahoma's bombing to New York. The bigger population center has something to do with response. The method of attack is also a factor to consider, using planes as bombs is or was something that wasn't conceivable by the general population.

Am I tired of the attention they're throwing at this event? Yes, but I realize that the masses of people out there might need it because they're about as dumb as sheep. I'd be willing to guess that the majority that are throwing themselves into this event are doing it just for appearances. They just want to be seen, or they follow along because they think this is what they're supposed to be doing. It might sound cold and heartless, but it's probably the truth, and the truth usually hurts.

I feel the same way as you setzer, it is getting beyond a joke. At least in australia one channel got the hint and didn't show endless footage of the september 11th stuff. I know alot of people who feel the same way.

In the goverments current state of delusional hyper-paranoia, I wouldn't be surprised.

Maybe you should request your FBI file? In it you'll have a one page document saying something like, "Suffers from delusions and isn't a real security threat." I wonder exactly how many of us have FBI files. :paranoid:

Then PM him, don't bring ancient threads back from the dead.

You have your own thread, you don't need more.

That thread has never been dead, I make sure of that. And if you're going to adopt a thread as your own, there are better ones out there then this one.

Gnarsh
3rd of April, 2005, 13:08
I wasn't going to adopt this one, just thought it deserved another post.

LeeCHeSSS

Actually, it doesn't. As Tim said, a PM would've been better.

Gnarsh

One word, Napalm (which is soap + heated gasoline or styrofoam + gasoline for those that don't already know).
