The five cats lurked forward, their shadows elongated behind them from the dim light of the setting sun.
"Vor save me..." Malinko prayed to the Big Red God, readying his trusty cat-beating stick for the inevitable feline onslaught.

{Readied action to strike defensively at the first cat to enter his square. Technically Malinko would get his AoO before his readied action, I think, so the opp' wouldn't take the -4 penalty to hit.}

Cats charge, provoking AOOs as they enter Malinko's square. Malinko attacks: 9. Miss. Malinko's readied action triggers. Malinko attacks: 12. Hit. Malinko does 2 damage. Cat dies.

Cats attack and must score a critical to hit: All fail.

Embolden by his sound defeat of his first feline foe, Malinko darted deftly right, taking a lateral swing in an attempt to clout the closest cat with his club.

Cats attack: One actually manages to score a natural 20! He deals... 1 damage! Ha!

"Aiee!" Malinko cried in terror at the superficial scratch across his leg, "Save me, Vor!"

With that, Malinko took off running, screaming, and shouting suplications for forgiveness from the big red god. He'd probably smack into a wall some time soon, but he'd have to deal with that problem later.
