Set along the banks of the Eren, Fairbrook is a small town that sees a fair amount of business from the river trade. Its farmlands, while not preeminent, are fertile enough with additional water being found in a tributary to the Eren that flows north of the town. The town was obviously constructed with an eye toward the river as its buildings are clustered in a close semi-circle near the docks. Late autumn crops of corn and other vegetables can be seen growing in the fields behind the town. A reasonably sized forest lays to the south of town.
However, upon closer inspection, Fairbrook looks to have seen better days. A marked lack of women had Lyr, Dun, and Aleina suspicious, and upon meeting the residents they realized there was a definite pall being cast over the river town.
Places of Interest
The One-Eyed Fish - a small tavern run by a perpetually morose owner. It's a two-story establishment featuring a dozen private rooms and one moderately sized common room. The ale is watery but drinkable.
Farmstead - a small farmstead visited by Rhotha'ah, Heulwen, and Aashya. It's located a quarter mile away from the forest.
The Docks - they look large enough to accomodate several ships at once, but none currently dock in Fairbrook.
The Forest - a moderate sized forest lays south of Fairbrook. Its residents seem relunctant to enter.
The Hermit's Shack - a sad little hovel located in the depths of the forest. Its most distinct feature is the slabs of granite that lay across the floor.
The Hangman's Tree - a great oak a short distance from the shack. Scarecrows dressed like the companions were hanged from its branches.
