View Full Version : I shall have no more of this disobediance!

I've grown tired of you folks!
Time and time again I have explained that there is no need to toggle a deleted thread's visibility (just so you no longer have to see the deletion notice). And every time you stubbornly continue to send posts to the moderation queue.
I've grown tired of your behaviour.
You will likely find that you are no longer capable of even toggling the option. Live with it, because I choose not to live with your stubborn behaviour.

I suggest a swath of bannings to throw the fear of god in them!
Make me an admin and I'll do it for you. ;)

Tsk, it really is obvious that you have returned :)

It is good to be back.

You know I would make you admin if you created the FAQ that this site really really needs...

Well now we have a conundrum. I want power, yet am very lazy.

Hrmm, what's this big word. Could I mayhaps use it as replacement for the more mundane 'dilemma'? I love big words!

Bah, if I can spell it, it doesn't count as a big word.

That button is just a big "do not push" sign for a lot of people...why not have one that says "permanently delete" (and have it do that). Don't make rules that are (nearly) unenforceable!

Eh? The posts gets deleted, there simply is no need to want to hide the deletion notice, only people with moderator powers can see it!
Anyway, there is no rule being enforced. I've just taken steps to get rid of the endless stream of posts in the moderation queue...

Out of curiosity, what is this 'moderation queue' ?
LeeCHeSSS

A list of all the posts that have been made invisible. Us administrators get to choose wether we validate posts, delete them, or leave them in the queue. Originally it is used for boards where new posts are not immediatly visible and need to be moderated first (ie checked for naughty things). Same goes for threads.

The question is, did we get the FAQ at last?
This was a test. A paid test.

We did actually. It's not as grand as I had originally envisioned, but it contains the answer to just great questions as How do I post? (http://online-roleplaying.com/forums/faq.php?faq=general#faq_post) and Do you get some pixellated character to equip and battle with? (http://online-roleplaying.com/forums/faq.php?faq=introduction#faq_pixel_character)

Ironically I used the moderated option thinking that it was just for me, not for the admins. The reason I used it was to keep a thread invisble to my players. Essentially it was my DM Notes. Having the option to make a thread invisible to players would be nice without angering admins and having it disappear... heh.

pixelated characters to equip and do battle with would be a nice addition though....

Clearly we must demand it and force LeeCHeSSS to figure out how to implement it.
Do it, or we'll all become violently ungrateful and make your life a hell!!
Wait... can't you ba... um...

I must resist the urge to change some user titles to 'Pixelated Character'. I must resist ...

Yes, but can you let us equip ourselves and do battle?
I think not - we have no such thing at the moment!!

I can make sprites for each of you, but somebody else would need to code the mechanics. Anyway, that isn't what ORP is about...

Not up until now, anyways...

Clearly we must reimagine the site and give the form of a MUD!
I mean, I haven't seen a good MUD in a while.
Come to think of it... I've never seen one that was a great deal of fun.
This would be interesting... though it appears my lack of programming skills has become truly detrimental for the first time.
Edit: Oooo! Or a MUCK! Would be interested to see if we could make a self-sustaining game purely through in-game worldbuilding.

This discussion is rather off-topic...

Well, it formed from itches and his mention of the FAQ, which included a blurb about... oh, wait, that was a hint to stfu, right?
LeeCHeSSS

Not quite, just a hint to start a new thread if the off-topic-topic deserves one...

Back on topic... I didn't know there was any way of making the deleted threads dissapear from view. I can see all the threads that I've deleted still and sometimes it drives me bananas! Are you saying though that bananas are what I'm gonna have to deal with and you don't want any?

You got that right. Quite right.
