this bb-code useful?
Example:
You rolled a critical miss!
530xp each
23gp each and one cloak of resistance +1

I strongly oppose this

For once include a reason for your opinion...

It's bad. Because I'm too lazy to learn how to do it.

You know what would really be useful? A dicebot. It would be great to be able to roll dice just by putting in a BBCode tag.

I mentioned that in the past
I think I even came up with acunning solution to stop it being used for evil, although I can't remember what it was
Although the use for a dicebot I could think of would be stats
in other news, plans were silenced so we could focus on the mapping solution which is quickly fading from everyone's memory

It's also nice for letting players make their own rolls. I've seen it used on *cough* other PbP forums *cough* with a "fixed" feature that would prevent "rerolling" if someone went back to edit their post.

I'm not letting filthy players roll their own dice :)
Yeah, I saw the dicebot on another PBP forum and it's the only thing others have that we lack
As much as I wouldn't use it in my games I'm sure there are places that would (unless my players started to cry about it, I suppose ;) )

I never did reply did I?
That fuction is bulky. Generaly OOC comments go in the OOC thread, or you tend to try to make it not stand out too much in the IC thread. That makes it stand out, which defeats the point.
As to using it in general for grouping statments, with headings.
I was under the impression that you could just use this type of thing

I find myself agreeing with itches. I find it more than a little odd that itches argues against having things stand out in the IC thread, yet attaches that neon signature to all his IC posts.

I'm vastly indifferent. Most of my comments about exp, look and OOC comments often say "See the OOC thread" where I have posted a much larger and more detailed list of things. I also prefer to write loot into IC posts only revealing what the item actually is when the time is appropriate.

Back on topic: I would also be against the bbcode you're proposing. IMO, the IC thread should read like a story, and such "comments" would disrupt suspension of belief. I use OOC threads for posting such information.
So, umm, how 'bout that dicebot? ;)

I don't have any particular use for it, but I imagine some might. While I might agree that I prefer the IC thread to read more like a story, I don't expect everyone to have the same views. If others want it, I say, "Cool, enjoy."
