After my impromptu conversion to Mozilla, I notice that the "reply" boxes don't size with my browser anymore. That is, as I sit here typing my response, the little box I'm typing it into is very narrow - less than half the width it could concievably occupy. Any idea why that might be (or, more importantly, what I might do to change it)?

I have the same problem, using the version of Windows XP's Windows Media Player (9?) that came with the OS (since the website hates my CDkey and won't let me upgrade).

At least, my reply boxes only fit
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
before wrapping. Which, on my screen is 1/3 to 1/2 the width from its left side to the right side of my screen.

Mozilla seems to do that with textareas, I never really bothered to figure out why.

If you really find it frustrating, I can try and fix it...

and the quick reply box changes from a neat little thing to a huge rectangle :(

Well, it seems my celebration was premature. The "quick reply" box is fixed, but not the "post reply" box.

I felt I had imposed on LeeCHeSSS enough already. My conversion to Firebird only buys me so much goodwill, and I saw the sky darkening and felt the winds rising. It's only a matter of time before the lightning starts to fall :).

While you're at it LeeCHeSSS do you think you could have a look at the global warming problem? It seems to be acting up again and I really think you could fix it. :P

And then you have to work on world hunger - some people out there are -really- hungry, you know..

Global warming is easy, we can cancel it out with a nuclear winter.

Say, LeeCHeSSS, the Edit Box still needs fixing if you have a chance.

I can't be arsed. The conversion to vB3 is so close at hand anyway...

PS. Have you folks already upgraded to FireFox 0.8? ;)

Gralhruk

Does that one have an automated install? 'cuz if it does I'm a little leery about installing it on my work PC. I don't have too many rights on this machine and if it should screw something up I'll have some explaining to do.

vB3? FireFox? Mozilla? These are either monsters from B-movies or I'm out of touch when it comes to that newfangled technology that you kids are using these days.

anyhow know how to get java working with firefox?
I found one way that was beyond my technical expertise and the simple way doesn't work, which is nice

YOu need to go install it.

Yes, I'm an original. I don't see why they needed an installer anyway. IIRC, the install for Firebird was basically:
1) Unzip the archive into the directory of your choice.
2) Uh, there is no 2.

Mayhaps the nightly builds are still in regular zipfiles...
