The village of Lunos was a small close-knit community living in the shadow of the impressive Lunos Summoner Temple.
The High-Summoners offered protection and philosophy to the people and stuents, but in contrast to other socieities based around temples the philosophy was not dictated, it was taught to work alongside the ideals of the Church of the Core.
Elder Erun was the elder of the Lunos Summoner Temple, his power was unquestioned, and yet he was a kind man.
Father Merille was a priest of the Core, who lived i nthe village and maintained a shrine to the Gods. Erun and Merille were, and still are, close personal friends, Erun ran the village but not without the advice of Merille.
As the reign of the Silver Lady grew all the more cruel the village was largely overlooked. The village paid tribute to the Lady, as did all towns, but the protection of the tiny village by an entire temple made any further ideas from the Lady hardly worth the resources.
One morning Father Merille brought exciting news to the village. The Silver Lady was no more, the region was free from oppression, although the villagers themselves had experienced very little hardship from her reign they knew that there were many who had, some had lost family in other areas because of her. The people were glad, and a celebration was organised for that evening.
The celebration left the people and the temple unprepared, the drink flew freely and the people danced and laughed and were merry. A dozen riders arrived on silver steeds, clearly a fragment of the remaining forces. The silver riders swept through town, not mercilessly killing as the people expected but searching.
By the time the High-Summoners and others able to protect had gathered their wits it was too late. The summoned creatures destroyed the riders they could catch, but at least half of their number escaped. And with them they managed to take three of the village's children, along with the lives of two other villagers.
Mrs Cosos fell attempting to flee with her six-year old twins(Luca and Sora), and the twins were taken by the same rider. Angus Metin, the brewer, fell trying to protect his seven-year old daughter, Felicity, from the Silver Riders. She was also taken.
It isn't known why the Riders came and took the children from the village, most think it some kind of punishment that the former Minions of the Silver Lady decided to exact randomly on the people of the region.
As the time passed, the villagers have tried to place the awful events behind them, but no one can ever forget the loss of the two villagers and the children
