Okay, here is another one.
What is your most memorable near-death experience?
Or are you lucky enough never to have had one?
My personal closest call was a few weeks ago, I opened the dishwasher and pulled the bottom tray forwards, a large very very sharp knife caught on the top tray and flicked out of the dishwasher. It skimmed my throat (i.e. i felt it just touch me) and stuck into a cupboard behind me.
Pretty scary at the time.
Then there are the normal driving lesson ones where i get distracted and nearly crash but Alan is there to stop me dying :)
Note to self: vb code doesnt work in headings

Crashed my motorcycle under a truck at (approx. , in moments like that your speedometer is about the least of your concerns...) 130kM/h.
I barely managed to jump off right before it shoved under the traile of that truck. It got stuck under the cabin.......
Meanwhile , your friendly neighbouhood Megamieuwsel was making an extremely close study of the flora that occupied the road-side.........
Let's just say , I'm glad I wore protective clothing.(Polstered leather pants and Jack , sturdy boots , gloves and a helmet , despite it being 28 degrees Celcius outside.

When I was thirteen I crashed my bike while doing about 30mph. I landed headfirst and broke my helmet, which was my only protection. Scarred me up pretty bad on my arms and on one leg (I was wearing shorts). I received a minor concussion, but if I hadn't been wearing a helmet I probably would've died.
A dog bit me on the face when I was about 10 months old, but it was a dachshund, so I don't think that counts :D

Closest I've ever come was a car crash when I was 5 or so. I didn't have my shoulder strap on when a truck hit the little car me and my mom were in head on. He was out of control and hit us pretty hard. There was bascly nothing left of the car.
My head hit the dashboard and left a good dent in my head thats still there. I blacked out for a little while and the next thing I remember was being down in the space where you put your feet when your riding in the car. I didn't have any visible wounds, so I was let go at the hospital without treatment.
Some people that it damaged my brain or something....but what do they know? HE HE HE HE HE! *hack, cough* ahem....

When I was in the USAF reserves I was part of the aircrew for a AC-130 Gunships. We were flying over Columbia in support of "the War on Drugs." We rolled in on a convoy of trucks. The gunship's IR picked up the heat of fresh processed Cocaine in one of them. The aircraft commander called it a "target of opportunity". We burpped out about 50 rnds a piece from number one and two guns (20mm Vulcan cannons) first we hit the first truck then the last on the second half of our orbit. The door on the Gunship was down so I could perform my duties as scanner. I watched the fireworks, it was too dark to see the trucks. Nothing scary so far. Then it happened. A bright flash and a little light shot up at us trailing smoke. I hit the flares button and made a banking call over the intercomm system. I won't lie. I think the pilot was already banking by the time I called it. We rolled back in and destroyed the whole lot of them with the Vulcans. I will remember that forever how time stood still and my ears began to thud in my helmet. Over what looked like an over blown bottle rocket.

I think this thread just had a near death experience.:P
It's interesting that this thread should be necroed on this particular day. Just yesterday the lecture in my psychology class was partly about Near Death Experiences. Of course this is the actual scientific definition of a near death experience, an altered state that occurs when someone has revived from be clinically dead. You know, the thing where you float out of your body, then start moving down a dark tunnel towards a light. Anyone had one of those? BLC said she was dead for a while but didn't get any interesting altered state.

I was digging thru old threads looking for something interesting to post on.
I got out my 5000 gp diamond and Raised Dead on this one.
I just want to get my post count up. I'm tired of being a ghoul.

Are you seriously expecting me to believe that your caster level for divine spells is at least 2532?
