Perhaps you could setup auto-forwarding to personal email accounts as an option on the user config page? Goes right along with the send updates on threads idea. This way, people don't have to list their personal emails publicly, but can still get messages through email directly.

Ok, I have bought a software package that allows me to give out email addresses to you guys. HOWEVER, people will have to pass certain requirements I have set. I will not share the requirements, because you would most certainly change your behaviour to qualify.

So far the following have indicated they want an email address:
PaVel
LonePaladin
SponkelofInfini
Cadogan Trahem
Itches
Azrharn
Talaananthes
NestroEmichae

Out of those, the following do not qualify yet:
PaVel (although that won't stop him from creating an account on the server directly :evolved:)
NestroEmichae

The rest will get XXX@Online-Roleplaying.com as their email address (with XXX their username on these boards).

Exception to this is Cadogan Trahem because of the space in his username. Please message/mail/reply with the desired alternative.

Other users that want an email address, request it in this thread.

plus no one will be able to complain they couldn't find a way to try and get in touch with me

Bah, I've never felt a need to withhold that kind of stuff
Although my surname is pretty damn unique
so anyone could find me

but chances are anyone who is familiar enough with computers to find me is prolly smaller than me :)
of course this leaves the problem of a big guy with a friend who can use a computer :)

I'll grab one if I can, I don't actually use my other 2 anyway (Except for job apps and getting stuff from here). Lorben has Trillian downloaded, so I can put a name there too (If it's a requirement). Setzer@ if possible.
