Also im a little confused at to what you want in the IC forum now. we have and intorduction. but are we gonna go turn based, or just post whatever whenever if were not im combat. can we always post a reply or will you tell us when we are acting and you are narrating or what?

The only time we'll go turn based is in combat, and for the most part I'll be directing the story through NPCs and their dialog. Whenever you move to a new location, i.e. enter a bar or a shop feel free to say what you're doing, but I will post after you with an NPC's response and detail the surroundings along with it.

All of us are going to be narrating to some degree. You and the others will narrate your character (what they do, say, think, etc), while I will narrate everything else. Really you guys are going to drive the story, so you can always post a reply. If something gets out of order I'll rearrange things so they make sense.

Is that pretty clear?

oh. and as far as skill checks. you said we wont be doing them for the most part. but if i wanna use all my skills that i have cna i still use them. and will they just autamaticaly suceede or what?

Yes, we'll be playing off each other's posts.

For skill checks most will automatically succeed. The only ones you will always need to roll for are opposed checks, i.e. Perception vs. Deception.

Which result was the one meant for hiding your presence? The 23 or the 34?

By the way, using Force powers make it impossible for you to hide yourself in the Force because, uh, you're using the Force. Just for future reference.

the 34 was my use the force. And i know im using the force. what was going through my mind was something similer to what palpatine did with the senate. he hid his pressence at all times. yet still used the force to slowy currupt almost all the members of the senate. so he was using the force all the time. yes no one new he was the dark lord

basicially i am focusing my efforts in a very small area around me. while keeping my general pressence hidden to those who are not close to me. Granted if i tried that on someone who could sence the force they would prolly know i was doing it (unless i use my force decption to make them think otherwise). So if someone is near that can sence the force they would only feel a flicker, where as someone, say 100 feet away ish, would not sence a thing

and after some book reading. I can make an opposed use the force check to conceal my forceness from others.

This is what i get from what i read. If my use the for excede thiers they can not detect my pressence at all, no matter what i am doing and i can force use decption can convince ppl that the force was no involved even if they sence it. dunno. read it and tell me what you get from it

Ok expllain how this would work. Im trying to use the forse to detect Davids pressence. So there obviously needs to be opposed force rolls. Do i type what i want up to the check, then continue based on the rolls, or type the whole thing then edit for what actually happened.

Je'Koth doesn't need to make an opposed check because your 30 is higher than anything he could roll. You automatically succeed, so continue your conversation as you had planned.

Well, if it's something opposed by one of their defenses, their defense is the DC. If it's something that has to be rolled against, then they'll have to roll. As far as what you can post, make your roll in the OOC forum first. After the success/failure of the roll is determined, then make your IC post.

ok. 2 questions.

1: since we are ll kinda posting indepentant of each other. woud it be better to jsut do 1 roll for a whole conversaion rather then multiple and just have the result stick throughout?

2: If i were to persuade someone (and my roll beats everyone so no one can talk them out of it) do they HAVE to follow my persuasion/deception/whatever. that kinda takes the RP out of it. and could kinda turn me in to dominating the party (which im fine with by the way)

1. One roll for the whole conversation is fine.

2. You're right, forcing someone to do what you want by winning a die roll takes the role-playing out of it, so I've decided that you can't influence player characters in that way. If you want to convince them to do something then you'll have to make a persuasive argument, or tell a good lie (i.e. your style of game-mastering).

For NPCs, though, you can still make them do whatever you want if you win the die roll.

ok, this i have to know. how does david know me. and if he know about the academy, then i should know him, as i was there for a good 15 years (i forget exactly how long) and FYI, i went though extra effort to keep myself well hidden, and never (unless i wanted to/felt the need to) did i use my real name.

Oh, and seeing as how i kept my personal feeling about everyting to myself at the academy he would not nkow about my averasion to mindless drinking. And there is no way he could have heard me say it, as he was not arouns and it was said to myself.

im thinking past posts cant be used for info if the other characters were not around as, well, they could know know that

True. I'll edit his post for the drinking bit, but your history with the Academy happened, and the other Masters would have used your situation as an example to the other students. All he knows is that you're still on the Sith's "most wanted" list.

Just a random note. Try to stick to the color you've been using for your dialog. It'll make it easier to follow a conversation if everything is color-coded. Lame, I know, but indulge me :P

Haha, I could have said green, but I was using the color designations available to us in the color pallet. The initial color we used for you was called "lime."

If you guys choose to fight, here is the combat info:

It doesn't matter which guard is 1, 2, or 3. The first one attacked would be considered 1, the second one 2, and so on.

Hey you should totally tell me where you read that master negptiaotiaier didnt affect certian parts of the condition track. i cant find it. as i read it as a standard action in an encounter i can make a persuasion roll and i fi beat their will i move them -2 on the conditon track.

We were both right about Master Negotiator, in a way. You can do it to them in combat and it affects everything they do. However, if they reach the end of the condition track they simply give up instead of falling unconscious which is what normally happens. So... feel free to humiliate your enemies all you want.

Dave you need to use the in-text die roller formula. I'm not saying I don't trust you, but to be fair to everyone else you have to use the die roller on here. I'm redoing your rolls to rectify this. Also, I'm assuming for your Force Slam roll you spent a Force point (only way to achieve the 34). One last thing, by Slamming Ool'yn you're also hitting Glas Aon because it's an area attack, not single target.

You successfully rebuke the whole effect back at him with you as the source. Guards (1), (2), and Glas Aon don't take any damage. Je'Koth can't rebuke it so he, the Guard Captain, and Guard (3) take 9 damage instead.

This means that Guard (1) is still alive, and Guard (2) is not prone. All posts have been edited to reflect this.

I didn't say you did. I thought it made sense when I said in the IC thread that you deflected it. You've only taken 23 damage since you met Ool'yn. He choked you (10), threw you (4), and rebuked your power at you (9).

Yeah, if you made a roll and posted it, you can't edit in another roll to that post. For simplicity's sake just make your potential rolls in the same post unless you need to know the outcome from me before you decide what to do next.

Just so everyone isn't in the dark... There is no rush to post right now because I'm about to introduce a new player into the story. I have to wait to hear back from him about whether he approves of his character or needs me to make changes. After that I'll move the story along to the next "scene" so to speak.

Hey Xann, great first post. The only thing I need to point out is that you need to talk in the present tense. So, instead of saying "Xann got up and headed towards the door," you would say, "Xann gets up and heads toward the door."

And just really quick, even though I prolly already asked this, but what do I have to do to roll? like how many dice are we useing and which equation is it? just confussed a bit, sorry.

Cool, so the order is as follows:

1. Xann
2. Je'Koth
3. TIE Predator (2)
4. Ool'yn
5. TIE Predator (1)
6. Glas Aon

Xann, you'll start us off, and remember, since you're piloting you have the option of sticking out the whole fight, or just making the jump to lightspeed. If you choose to flee into hyperspace you have these two options:

Wait 10 rounds (turns) and make a DC 10 Use Computer check with this modifier:

+11 = half your level (3) + Int modifier (3) + 5 nav computer

On your first turn make a DC 10 Use Computer check with this modifier:

+1 = half your level (3) + Int modifier (3) + 5 nav computer - 10 (full round attempt)

Otherwise you can just maneuver and attack with the concussion missiles.

at what ever tie is closest

When you're firing The Legacy's weapons you add your ranged attack modifier and the ship's weapon modifier to the D20 roll. So, yes, your total attack roll was 30 and your damage was 108.
