The year is 280 ABY, and the Second Imperial Civil War has been over for 105 years. The alliance between the Empire-in-exile and the Galactic Alliance Remnant was defeated in 175 ABY when Roan Fel was captured and publicly executed by Darth Stryfe. The brutal display was broadcast on every channel of the holonet. Afterwards Darth Wyyrlok III issued an ultimatum to all of the member-worlds of the resistance: join the One Sith or be destroyed.
Initially there was opposition, but Wyyrlok ordered the destruction of Bastion, the capital world of the Fel Empire. The planet was incinerated and all of its inhabitants slaughtered. After his display of power the rest of the Fel worlds willingly joined the New Sith Empire, not wanting to risk prolonging the war. The Galactic Alliance Remnant was brutally crushed shortly after the destruction of Bastion, and all of its leaders were executed in Sith Imperial prisons.
The New Jedi Order along with Roan Fel’s Imperial Knights and the Yuuzhan Vong vanished from the galaxy at the end of the war. Anti-Jedi sentiments and the extreme hostility towards the Yuuzhan Vong left no choice for them but to quietly disappear from the galactic scene. It is suspected that they traveled to either the Aurek or Besh satellite galaxies to escape persecution and find their own place. Some may still reside in the known galaxy, but they are few and far between.

The One Sith are now the unquestioned rulers of the galaxy, and an aging Darth Wyyrlok III leads this New Sith Empire. The mystery surrounding Darth Krayt was dispelled when Roan Fel revealed his death to the galaxy, and in 197 when Regent Morlish Veed died Wyyrlok formally assumed the role of Emperor. At his induction ceremony he introduced the galaxy to his triumvirate: the Hand Darth Viress, a female black-scaled Ssi-ruu; the Hand Darth Ravvij, a male black furred wookie; and the Fist Darth Láysh, a male black and red skinned Zabrak.
Emperor Wyyrlok knows that the Jedi still exist, and he fears that one day they may return in greater numbers and pose a threat to his perfect Empire. He has offered an extraordinarily large reward for reliable information regarding the whereabouts of any Jedi, and he has offered an equally large bounty for live Jedi. However, he has issued a standing order to execute anyone who kills a Jedi.
Coupled with his galactic orders concerning the Jedi, Wyyrlok has begun organizing a massive expeditionary force to travel to the Aurek and Besh satellite galaxies to hunt for them. Darth Láysh and his apprentice Darth Razhe will lead the expedition. Large portions of the Sith military are being used as the bulk of the force, but a call has been issued to all mercenaries, scouts, and bounty hunters offering substantial monetary compensation for their services on the expedition.
